2 Oregon men die from exposure in a forest after they went out to look for Sasquatch

Washington, Stevenson. Authorities reported Saturday that two men from Oregon were discovered dead in a state forest in Washington after they did not return after a search for Sasquatch.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that the 37-year-old and the 59-year-old seem to have perished from exposure. The office stated it came to that determination because of the weather and the men’s lack of readiness.

Some people believe that the sasquatch, a mythical animal, roams the forests, especially in the Pacific Northwest.

About 150 miles (240 kilometers) northeast of Portland, in a densely forested section of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the two men were discovered.

After they did not return from an expedition on Christmas Eve, a family member reported them missing at approximately 1 a.m. on Christmas Day.

The three-day search involved 60 volunteer search and rescue workers, including ground, drone, and dog teams. The Coast Guard conducted an aerial search using infrared technology.

The pair’s car was found by authorities using camera footage off Oklahoma Road close to Willard, which is on the southern edge of the national forest.
