(WNY News Now) Jamestown, New York A 30-year-old Jamestown resident is being charged with several offenses after two events on the west side of the city involving drug possession and a stolen car.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a report of a hit-and-run causing property damage on December 3, 2024, at around 2:22 PM. Their prompt investigation resulted in the retrieval of the involved vehicle, which was being driven with a suspended New York State driver’s license, and the identification of Aaron A. Johnson as the suspect. The car was seized and several traffic fines were issued.
Second Platoon police were called to investigate a stolen car accusation that came from Johnson’s home later that afternoon, at around 3:44 PM. Authorities found that Johnson had used the car for his own purposes without the owner’s permission.
Johnson was found in possession of fentanyl when he was arrested at the scene. He was brought to Jamestown City Jail after being apprehended without incident.
Johnson faces the following charges:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Misdemeanor)
He is being detained in Jamestown City Court for his arraignment. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
