An Evening with Squirrel Nut Zippers: A Christmas Caravan Tour performance by the multi-platinum jazz rock group.

As the Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) deliver their amazing and swaggering Christmas shows to their fans, their swingin’ seasonal tunes will be thundering into Jamestown, NY. On stage at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m., the legendary multi-platinum jazz rockers will unveil their An Evening with the Squirrel Nut Zippers Christmas Caravan Tour, which will include songs from their Christmas Caravan and Mardi Gras for Christmas albums in addition to other Zippers favorites.

During these wonderfully festive performances, the band will create an atmosphere that is halfway between the backroom commotion of a speakeasy and the wonderful lights of Christmas, along with sentimental ballads and lively dance tunes.

Inspired by jazz, klezmer, and vaudeville from the 1920s, SNZ’s insatiably inventive and inquisitive frontman Jimbo Mathus has created a sound that is genuinely one-of-a-kind. No other artist of his generation has so authentically and fluidly embraced and synthesized varied inspirations. The Holiday Caravan show, which has become more and more popular and has sold out locations around the US, is a prime example of this unusual combination.

With their groundbreaking album, Hot (1996), the Platinum recording artists have sold over three million albums to date, giving them a household name. This groundbreaking album, which was recorded in the sweltering heat of New Orleans and was driven by a burning mixture of alcohol and a young desire to learn the ins and outs of old-world jazz, marked only the beginning for the group.
