(WNY News Now) A Jamestown resident was arrested on several offenses, including possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding assault warrant, following a routine traffic stop on East 2nd and Winsor Street.
New York’s Jamestown After noticing many traffic infractions, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd platoon began a vehicle and traffic stop on Winsor Street at around 5:02 p.m. on the evening of December 7, 2024.
Due to an active arrest warrant for third-degree assault, authorities knew the driver, who was identified as Jamestown resident Duane R. Crawford 3rd, 27. Officers arrested Crawford after verifying his identity.
When officers searched Crawford after the arrest, they found a controlled narcotic in his possession. He is currently facing further accusations of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance as a result.
Crawford is being held at the Jamestown City Jail until he is arraigned in Jamestown City Court after being taken there. Possession of a prohibited substance, many traffic and vehicle infractions, and the outstanding assault warrant are among the charges. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
