(WNY News Now) Commuters should exercise caution as a Winter Weather Advisory warns of heavy snowfall and dangerous road conditions.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the Buffalo, New York-based National Weather Service (NWS) and will be in force until 10:00 AM EST on Saturday, December 7. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are anticipated in Wyoming and Southern Erie Counties, with higher totals anticipated in southwestern Wyoming County around Arcade and far southern Erie County, which includes Springville and Gowanda.
Travel conditions are expected to be hazardous, especially on Friday evenings. Roads blanketed with snow and poor visibility will make driving dangerous. On the road, commuters are advised to slow down, extend their following distances, and use caution.
Northern parts of the impacted counties could expect less snow, but all locations should brace for negative weather effects.
To help with real-time weather tracking, residents are urged to post snow accumulation data on social media or on the NWS website.
During this winter weather event, be educated and put safety first.
