Buffalo Man Faces Sentencing After Guilty Plea for Felony Firearm Possession

(WNY News Now) – A Buffalo man with a prior felony conviction has pleaded guilty to illegal firearm possession after authorities found two stolen guns in his possession earlier this year.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Henry Ford, 37, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, a federal offense that could bring a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

The charge stems from an April 2024 search warrant executed on Ford’s person and his residence on Erb Street. Investigators recovered a loaded handgun from Ford’s pocket, later determined to have been stolen from Georgia in September 2019. During a search of Ford’s residence, officers uncovered a second firearm, which had been reported stolen in Buffalo in March 2024, along with additional ammunition.

Ford’s criminal history includes a 2008 felony conviction in Erie County Court, which prohibits him from legally owning firearms.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), led by Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan Miller, and the Buffalo Police Department under Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia.

Sentencing is set for February 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Judge Sinatra presiding.
