DWI Arrest in Hanover: Reckless Driving Raises Alarms

(WNY News Now) Hanover, NY When a resident of Dunkirk was seen driving recklessly on RT 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover on Saturday night, a routine traffic complaint escalated into a DWI arrest.

At at 5:46 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene of a car swerving across the road. Officers located the vehicle, stopped it, and found the driver to be Leonela Sotoof, 39, of Dunkirk, New York.

According to the results of an investigation, Soto was operating a vehicle while inebriated. Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, Unsafe Lane Change, and Improper or Unsafe Turn Without Signal were the charges brought against her after her arrest.

With tickets to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later time, Soto was processed and discharged. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
