Niagara Falls Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges Following Task Force Investigation

(WNY News Now) Following a targeted investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, a resident of Niagara Falls is facing several felony counts.

Lockport, New York After a months-long investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, Niagara Falls resident Jerome Wingfield, 41, was taken into custody on December 3, 2024. The arrest took place at a house in the Town of Lockport on Niagara Street Extension.

Wingfield has been charged with the following, according to Sheriff Michael Filicetti:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the third degree

New York State law classifies both counts as felonies.

After being safely arrested, Wingfield was transferred to the Niagara County Jail, where he is being detained until his arraignment. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
