Mass shooting in Towson, Maryland leaves 1 dead and 9 injured

Police reported that a mass shooting occurred Tuesday night next to a funeral home in Towson, Maryland, leaving at least one person dead and nine injured.

After receiving many reports of a shooting, officers arrived at the 8500 block of Loch Raven Blvd. at approximately 7:15 p.m., according to Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough.

“This incident is shocking, especially for those of us in Baltimore County,” stated Johnny Olszewski, the county executive. It truly shakes the conscience because such things are completely unheard of here.

According to Mccullough, the first officer on the site discovered a burning car on its side.

When the Baltimore County Fire Department arrived on the site, they treated the patients, extinguished the fire, and took them to a hospital, according to Chief Joseph Dixon of the Baltimore County Fire Department.

According to BCPD, the shooting was a targeted attack, and the public is not in danger.
