House Ethics Committee to release report on its Matt Gaetz investigation

According to two people familiar with the situation, the House Ethics Committee has decided to make a report outlining the conclusions of an investigation into former Representative Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., publicly available, NBC News reported.

Following President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement last month that he planned to name Gaetz as the next U.S. Attorney General, Gaetz resigned from the House.

During its years-long inquiry, the committee examined Gaetz’s alleged sexual misconduct and illegal drug use.

Only a few days after Trump’s declaration, Gaetzwith removed his name from candidacy for the job as information regarding the testimony of women who addressed the Ethics committee became public. Any wrongdoing has been disputed by him.

The news was initially reported by CNN.
