Niagara Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Rape Charges; Faces Up to 20 Years in Prison

(WNY News Now) A Niagara Falls man pled guilty to two counts of Attempted Rape in the First Degree after confessing to sexually abusing two victims in different events.

Lockport, New York In Niagara County Court, 25-year-old Gregory Noonan of Niagara Falls entered a guilty plea to two charges of first-degree attempted rape. Allegations that Noonan sexually assaulted two distinct victims in Niagara Falls in 2021 and 2022 are the basis for the charges.

“The defendant faces up to 20 years in prison and 15 years post-release supervision,” said Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman, who announced the news. We will be requesting that the judge impose that maximum punishment on behalf of the victims of these atrocities.

Following a comprehensive investigation into the attacks by the Niagara Falls Police Department, Noonan was indicted and ultimately entered a guilty plea. Heather Nicholson, Chief of the Special Victims Unit Bureau, prosecuted the case.

It is planned that Noonan will be sentenced at a later time.
