(WNY News Now) – Buffalo Police, with the assistance of the New York State Police Aviation Unit, tracked and arrested three individuals after a stolen vehicle was driven against traffic on the Kensington Expressway Wednesday night.
BUFFALO, NY – In a collaborative effort involving Buffalo Police and the New York State Police (NYSP) Aviation Unit, three arrests were made on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle through city streets and highways. Around 9:30 p.m., officers were alerted by a citizen on Fillmore Avenue who reported their vehicle had been stolen.
Within moments, officers located the vehicle near Starin and Depew avenues. NYSP’s Aviation Unit provided aerial surveillance, observing the vehicle as it drove against traffic on the Kensington Expressway, posing a risk to oncoming drivers. The stolen vehicle finally came to a halt on the 900 block of Lafayette Avenue, where Buffalo Police quickly apprehended the occupants.
The suspects, identified as a 17-year-old male and two 19-year-olds, Jaquan Tillman and Theodore Robinson, all from Buffalo, now face multiple felony charges. Each suspect has been charged with Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, all of which are class D felonies. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
