Arrest on Warrant: Perrysburg Woman Released on Recognizance After Gowanda Incident

(WNY News Now) A Perrysburg resident was arrested on an active warrant during a regular run-in with the cops.

On December 11, 2024, about 3:45 PM, Sheriff Eric A. Butler announced that an arrest warrant had been executed. In the course of an unrelated incident, Jersie L. Silverheels, 23, of Perrysburg, NY, encountered New York State Police (NYSP) Collins on East Main Street in Gowanda, NY.

Authorities found that Silverheels had an active warrant from the Town of Perrysburg Court after doing additional research. Silverheels was then taken into custody by deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and sent to the Town of Persia Court for arraignment. Silverheels was released on her own recognizance by Judge Hebner, who presided over the proceedings. She will subsequently appear in the Town of Perrysburg Court to answer to charges under articles 120.14 and 240.26 of the Penal Law.

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
