According to law enforcement officials, a taxi jumped a curb in a well-known tourist location of Manhattan and crashed into several individuals, sending three pedestrians—including a little kid and his mother who were visiting from out of the country—to the hospital.
Just after 4 p.m. on Christmas, the taxi swerved onto the sidewalk at Sixth Avenue close to Herald Square while traveling west on 34th Street, according to the police.
According to law enforcement officials, the cab struck at least six people. Three individuals were brought to the hospital: a 49-year-old lady, a 41-year-old woman, and a 9-year-old kid. Although their conditions were unclear at the time of admission, it was anticipated that all three would live. Three more declined on-scene medical treatment.
According to law enforcement authorities who spoke to NBC New York, the mother and boy who were struck by the taxi were traveling from Australia to New York City.
Although the cause of the cab’s collision with the sidewalk was unknown, sources speculated that the 58-year-old driver might have experienced a medical episode. There were no charges.
The crash is still being looked into.
