Jamestown Man Charged with Assault and Criminal Contempt in Domestic Dispute

(WNY News Now) A Jamestown man is charged with several offenses after he reportedly assaulted a victim during a domestic altercation on the south side of the city and violated a protective order.

Jamestown, New York. Following reports of a physical domestic conflict, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon arrived at a property on the city’s south side at around 7:44 p.m. on January 2, 2025.

Officers arrived, investigated, and found that the victim had been physically injured after being struck in the face twice by 38-year-old Brian A. Lowers with a blunt object. While Lowers fled the area on foot, the victim took sanctuary in a locked bathroom.

Officers found Lowers at a neighboring site shortly after and captured him without any problems. In order to await his arraignment in Jamestown City Court, he was taken to the Jamestown City Jail.

Lowers is accused with assault in the second degree for using a weapon to cause harm and aggravated criminal contempt for disobeying a legitimate order of protection. Lowers also had an active warrant for second-degree harassment from Jamestown City Court.

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
