Winter Storm Alert: Friday Forecast for the Carolinas

On Friday, a winter storm is predicted to affect the region, with worsening weather predicted from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It is highly recommended that drivers finish any travel well before noon because the roads are likely to becoming slick and clogged.

Although 0.4 inches of snowfall is predicted for Tega Cay, sleet and freezing rain are the main causes for concern. Travel conditions will be exceedingly dangerous due to this wintry mix that will last until Friday night.

Throughout the event, temperatures will stay below freezing, which means that anything that falls will cling right away because of the icy ground.

The storm system will move out by Saturday, but the cool northwest wind will keep the temperature low.Residents should drive very carefully since icy patches are predicted to persist, especially throughout Saturday night.

For further information, be safe and check in with the Tega Cay Sun’s weather partner, the Carolina Weather Authority.
