Texas vs. Ohio State live updates: How to watch Longhorns, Buckeyes meet in Cotton Bowl CFP semifinals

On Thursday, Notre Dame punched its ticket to the national championship. Will Texas or Ohio State join them? When the Buckeyes and Longhorns square off in a clash between two iconic programs on Friday night, the answer will become clear.

So far in the College Football Playoffs, Ohio State has been the most dominant team. The team led by coach Ryan Day defeated No. 9 seed Tennessee 42-17 in their first game before thrashing No. 1 seed Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes took a 34-0 advantage in the latter game.

At the Peach Bowl last week, Texas, led by former Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers, easily defeated No. 12 Clemson but narrowly defeated No. 4 Arizona State in overtime. Ewers put up impressive stats with 322 yards throwing, three touchdowns, and one interception despite the close outcome. For the Longhorns to qualify for the championship game, he will need to put on a similar show.
