(WNY News Now) After an incident in the Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley, a 21-year-old woman was charged with promoting prison contraband and possessing a controlled narcotic.
Tia L. Barber, age 21, was arrested on January 6, 2025, at around 2:10 PM at 301 Court Street in Little Valley, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. Barber is accused with encouraging prison contraband in the second degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
During the county jail’s intake procedure, Barber was discovered to be in possession of cocaine, according to law enforcement. The additional charge linked to contraband resulted from this discovery.
Barber received an appearance ticket after the event, which required her to appear in Little Valley Town Court for a hearing later.
The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
