300 North Korean troops have been killed in Ukraine, South Korea says

South Korea’s SEOUL As Ukraine provided more information about two North Korean soldiers it has seized, South Korean MPs stated Monday that roughly 300 North Korean soldiers have been dead and 2,700 others wounded while fighting for Russia against Ukrainian forces.

Lawmakers Lee Sung-kwon and Park Sun-won told reporters following a closed-door briefing from South Korea’s National Intelligence Service that “poor understanding of modern warfare tactics,” as well as how Russia is using them, has contributed to the high casualty rates among North Korean soldiers.

According to the MPs, the agency also said that North Korean soldiers have been told to blow themselves up with explosives in order to escape capture.

According to U.S. and Ukrainian authorities, over 11,000 North Korean troops have been sent to the Kursk area of Russia, where Ukrainian forces recently launched a new attack after launching a cross-border incursion there in August.

The force deployment has not been formally announced by North Korea or Russia, which have been fortifying their security connections.

A request for comment from NBC News regarding the number of North Korean soldiers killed in combat, according to Seoul’s spy agency, was not immediately answered by the Ukrainian military.

There will definitely be more, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Sunday, adding that Ukraine was prepared to trade the seized North Korean soldiers for Ukrainians detained in Russia.

Along with a brief video purportedly showcasing the two North Korean soldiers whose detention was announced on Saturday, he stated in a post on Xa that it’s only a matter of time before our men are able to catch others. There should be no question in the world that North Korea provides military support to the Russian army.
