LONDON—Months after completing chemotherapy, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, announced Tuesday that her cancer is in remission.
The wife of the heir to the throne, Prince William, posted on Instagram, “I am relieved to be in remission now and I am still focused on recovery.”
Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer knows that acclimating to a new normal takes time. But, she continued, “I am looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead.” There’s a lot to anticipate. We appreciate everyone’s ongoing assistance.
The princess also expressed gratitude for the treatment she received from The princess Marsden Hospital, one of the top oncology centers in the United Kingdom.
Her words, “We couldn’t have asked for more,”
In a shocking video statement in March, Kate disclosed that she had cancer. She stated at the time that, under the recommendation of her medical staff, she was taking a course of prophylactic chemotherapy.
Less than a month had passed since King Charles III said he had been afflicted with cancer and was receiving treatment when she made her declaration. Although the palace has stated that he does not have prostate cancer, doctors detected the ailment after he was admitted to the hospital with an enlarged prostate.
Charles and Kate did not identify the sort of cancer they have.
Since disclosing her diagnosis, the princess has made a number of public appearances. In July, she and her 9-year-old daughter Charlotte attended the men’s final at Wimbledon.
Last month, Kate hosted the fourth annual Christmas carol service, Together at Christmas, in London’s Westminster Abbey, with Charlotte and her sons, Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 6.
For the kids, who were mostly kept out of the spotlight following her surgery, it was a rare public appearance.
Since returning to public responsibilities earlier this year, Charles has also attended a number of events, like as D-Day commemoration services in France, just like Kate.
Alongside Queen Camilla, he also started a lengthy visit to Australia and Samoanext month in October.
As the king promises to reduce expenses, the illnesses of Charles and Kate have brought attention to the difficulties faced by a smaller royal family.
The remaining royal family members have had to handle more events as there are fewer working royals available to perform ribbon cuttings, state functions, and award ceremonies.
Rather, the burden has fallen more on the king’s youngest brother, Prince Edward, and his sister, Princess Anne, Camilla.
