The best of CES 2025: the new products you should know about

Every year in early January, Las Vegas is practically taken over by the Consumer Electronics Show, a major trade show. Before they are released onto the market, hundreds of IT businesses swarm several convention halls to showcase their newest goods and prototypes. In an attempt to see everything, I walked more than ten miles in a single day at CES.

Even though I was unable to attend the expo in person this year, I watched from home and discovered a few noteworthy things that are worth being aware of. Below are my top picks for CES 2025 merchandise.

The best products from CES 2025

I chose useful, cutting-edge, and unusual products from a variety of categories, including skin care, laptops, and smart homes. I made an effort to select a variety of products that are now on the market as well as others that may be released in the future.

The majority of the items on this list are not yet available for purchase; most CES products are previews or prototypes.

Best smart frame:

PocketBook InkPoster

(pre-order)

PocketBook InkPoster

I think I’ve been waiting for this digital art frame. According to the brand, it displays a vivid, glare-free, paper-like image using some of the newest color E Ink screen technology. The poster connects to the InkPoster app for uploading and managing artwork, and it only has to be charged roughly once a year. The frame comes in 13.3, 28.5, and 31.5-inch sizes and is composed of aluminum. The only thing I would change is the price.

Best vacuum: Roborock Saros Z70

The newest flagship model from Roborock, which produces some of our favorite robot vacuums, features a huge, articulating arm that can pick up and move tiny things out of the way while cleaning. According to the band, the robot marks objects to lift during its initial cleaning, then circles back to move those objects and clean those areas later. When not in use, the arm neatly folds inside the robot.

The Saros Z70 will vacuum, mop, and navigate your home intelligently, much like the brand’s other high-end robot vacuums. Additionally, it has a base station that charges the robot, cleans its mops, fills its garbage, and refills its water tanks.

Best laptop: Lenovo ThinBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable

With the click of a button and the whir of several motors, the screen of this Lenovo laptop, which is 14 inches tall, can rise to 16.7 inches. Initially, the additional screen space is stowed away in the laptop’s casing. To extend the display and engage the motors, press a designated key or hold your palm up to the webcam. With its vibrant OLED display and somewhat compact form factor, it otherwise has the appearance of a typical laptop. The brand states that the laptop will go on sale in June 2025 for $3,499 after that.

Best travel: Roam SodaTop

Although they are usually restricted to the kitchen counter, we adore bubbly water makers. The Roam Sodatop has changed that. The top of a water bottle has a CO2 canister port. No matter where you are, you can enjoy carbonated water in your own water bottle or Roam’s personalized bottles by simply screwing it on and dropping in the canister.

Best robot buddy: Mirumi

Mirumi is a cuddly small robot that mimics baby behavior by moving its head to mimic shyness, curiosity, and other feelings. You can wear it on your arm or move its long arms to fasten it on a handbag or bag. It is being produced by Yukai Engineering, a company that has previously developed a number of adorable robot companions. It can react to touch, movement, and distance thanks to a few sensors within. It’s incredibly cute, in my opinion.

In the fall of 2025, the brand will start a crowdfunding campaign for the device, which is expected to cost about $70.

Best phone: TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G

This low-cost TCL phone doesn’t appear all that special until you click a particular button on the right side, which changes the phone’s mode from regular to Ink Mode, which is similar to an e-reader. Although you may choose how far into Ink Mode you want to go, the Max Ink Mode seems the most intriguing. According to the manufacturer, it extends the battery life to up to 27 days and reduces notifications and even app functions for a more e-reader-like experience. The phone will retail for $199.99 when it launches in the United States later this year.

Best mobile accessory: Belkin Stage PowerGrip

Ever wished your iPhone had more of a point-and-shoot camera feel to it? Belkin’s iPhone attachment gives your iPhone a hefty grip and a camera button. Using the included connection, it wirelessly charges your phone or other device and connects magnetically via MagSafe. It also functions as a power pack. It will premiere sometime in May 2025 and be available in five colors.

Best gaming: Lenovo Legion Go S

One of my least favorite mobile gaming consoles was the original Lenovo Legion Go. Due in large part to the fact that one model is SteamOS-powered, this new edition may alter that.

Compared to certain Windows handhelds I’ve used in the past, the SteamOS operating system is quick, simple, and straightforward, which is one of the reasons the Steam Deck is among the greatest portable gaming consoles. I’m interested to see how the Lenovo Legion Go S performs as it will be the first non-Steam Deck console with SteamOS integrated. According to the brand, the Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS will go on sale in May 2025 at an anticipated starting price of $499.99.

Most fun TV: LG StanbyMe 2

Although it’s not the most useful TV at CES, this one is unquestionably the most entertaining. The 27-inch Stanbyme 2 is a portable, battery-operated TV that may be used for up to four hours at a time. The brand displayed accessories on the show floor, such as a folio case that gives the device the appearance of a huge tablet and a carrying strap. The remote features one HDMI input, two USB-C ports for charging and accessories, and it magnetically fastens to the frame.

Best skin-care: L Oreal Cell BioPrint

According to the manufacturer, this tabletop device can use a skin sample to deliver a personalized examination and assessment of your skin in around five minutes. It gives information on your skin’s biological age, wrinkles, and barrier function. It also shows how likely you are to get dark spots or enlarged pores, how strongly your skin will react to particular active chemicals like retinol, and more. Rather than being intended for individual household use, it appears to be targeted toward dermatologists and corporations.

Skin-care runner up:

Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Face Mask

(pre-order)

Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Face Mask

This is the first skin care product from Nanoleaf, one of our favorite smart light businesses. A light treatment mask may seem like a bit of a weird turn at first, but it’s actually just LEDs that wrap around your face. The firm has been producing high-quality smart lights for years. You never know, though, because one of our favorite red light therapy wands is made by Therabody, a business best known for their massage guns.

The $150 pricing is the primary factor that excites me about this debut. In my experience, red light treatment masks with FDA clearance from reliable brands usually cost a lot more than that. The product might be a fantastic low-cost choice on the market if it performs effectively.

Best earbuds:

Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW2 Wireless Earbuds

Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW2 Wireless Earbuds

When combined with the charging case, these earphones have a battery life of up to 40 hours when noise cancellation is enabled and up to 60 hours when it is not. This is more than twice as long as many of the best wireless earbuds. Additionally, if you don’t usually travel with the carrying case, the buds automatically turn off when they snap together magnetically. This is a great way to save battery life.

Best outdoor:

Wonder Petal Outdoor Camera

The purpose of this outdoor camera is to capture wildlife in your garden through photography and video. Similar to the company’s smart bird feeder, it includes a video lifestream that you can watch from your phone using an app, and it automatically captures pictures of any wildlife it spots. The Wonder summarizes daily activities and assists in identifying fauna with AI. Sometime this spring, Wonder will make its Kickstarter debut.
