(WNY News Now) Investigators have determined that an electrical problem caused the fire that occurred in the Town of Ripley early on Tuesday morning, which claimed cattle and property.
Ripley, New York At at 2:16 a.m. on January 14, 2025, the Ripley Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 9499 Route 20 with the help of mutual aid departments. Firefighters put out the fire into the early morning hours.
The Chautauqua County incident Investigation Team reached the scene around 7:40 a.m. to ascertain the cause and origin of the incident. According to their inquiry, the incident was unintentional and resulted from an underground electrical service breakdown that allowed the fire to enter the garage.
Although there were no reported casualties, a large number of livestock, including chickens, ducks, turkeys, and a dog, were unfortunately lost in the fire.
