Governor Hochul Welcomes Ceasefire Deal Between Israel and Hamas, Calls for Immediate Release of Hostages

(WNY News Now) Governor Kathy Hochul is upbeat about the recent deal between Israel and Hamas, emphasizing how crucial it is to return captives and maintain enduring peace.

The agreement between Israel and Hamas to free the captives and establish a ceasefire was discussed by Governor Kathy Hochul.

Below is a quick transcript of the governor’s remarks:

The announcement of a truce between Israel and Hamas gives me great hope. Since the terrible, savage attack on defenseless civilians in Israel on October 7 of last year, I have been calling for this for many, many months. Bringing the hostages home has been my top goal. Four American captives remain, one of them is a young person from New Jersey.

We want them to return home and be embraced by their families, who have been anxiously awaiting their arrival. I apologize if it didn’t assist families like Omer Neutra’s. When I visited Israel following this massacre more than a year ago, I met his family right away and attended his funeral, which is why it’s so sad. With all of his interests and how much he cared for others, even at such a young age, we lost a young guy who truly had the potential to be a force for change in our society. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who will finally receive what they have been yearning for for a very long time, as well as with those who were killed that day and those who were captured and refused to come home.

I hope this is fully implemented as soon as possible because it is very excellent news for our nation.
