(WNY News Now) – A 19-year-old Wheatfield resident faces felony charges after a Niagara County Drug Task Force investigation led to his arrest on firearm-related offenses.
On October 29, 2024, Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti announced the arrest of Michael J. Beaver, 19, on felony firearm charges. Acting on findings from an ongoing investigation, the Niagara County Drug Task Force executed an arrest warrant at Beaver’s residence on Lena Drive in the Town of Wheatfield.
Beaver faces two serious charges: one count of Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. According to law enforcement, these charges are classified as felonies under New York State law, indicating a higher degree of severity in firearm-related offenses.
Following the arrest, Beaver was taken into custody and is being held in Niagara County Jail pending his arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
