S.C. Tega Cay.In keeping with Founders Federal Credit Union’s longstanding dedication to helping out local communities, the Tega Cay Sun and YoCo News are thrilled to introduce Founders as its newest advertising sponsor.

Founders Federal Credit Union was first established in 1950 as a modest financial cooperative by Springs Mills workers who wanted to shield their coworkers from unscrupulous lenders. Initially called Springmaid Credit Union, it expanded gradually while offering families in the tri-county area reasonably priced savings and loan alternatives. Over 70 years later, Founders is still working to empower people financially, serving over 273,000 members in 44 locations across two states and overseeing $4.7 billion in assets.

YoCo News was launched in November 2024 to give citizens of York and Lancaster counties access to local news coverage. With a print edition scheduled to launch in the early spring, the journal provides free internet news.

Both publications, YoCo News and the Tega Cay Sun, are owned by the Liberty Media Group.

According to co-editor Patrick Byrne, “We are thrilled to welcome Founders Federal Credit Union to our expanding portfolio of advertising partners.” In order to fulfill our stated goal of giving our community free, local journalism, advertising partnerships are crucial, co-editor Thomas Hyslip continued.
