Felon Arrested for Illegal Firearm Possession in New Albion

New Albion, New York (WNY News Now). After an investigation into a reported break-in involving gunfire earlier this month, a guy from New Albion was taken into custody for unlawful firearm possession.

Sheriff Eric A. Butler states that on January 4, 2025, deputies were called to the Town of New Albion in response to complaints of a potential gun-related burglary. Patrols arrived at the scene and discovered no victims or indications of a break-in.

Deputies found 54-year-old James S. Marshall in possession of a.270 long gun throughout the course of the investigation. Marshall has a prior felony conviction that prevents him from lawfully owning firearms, according to the results of a background check.

Marshall was arrested, processed, and given an appearance ticket before being released. A later appearance before New Albion Town Court is planned for him. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
