Speeding Leads to DWI Arrest in Sheridan

(WNY News Now) – Sheridan, NY – A routine traffic stop in the early hours of November 17, 2024, resulted in the arrest of a Ripley man for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle speeding on Route 20 near King Road in Sheridan at approximately 1:20 a.m. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Dustin L. Strain of Ripley, NY, was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Following further investigation at the scene, Strain was taken into custody and charged with DWI Per Se, DWI Common Law, and speeding in a zone. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office substation in Hanover, where he was processed and released with a court appearance scheduled in Sheridan Town Court.
