Jamestown Police Arrest Woman Following Bicycle Pursuit

(WNY News Now) Jamestown, NY: A 28-year-old woman was arrested by Jamestown police during a late-night street search on several offenses, including resisting arrest and having outstanding warrants.

Early on November 25, 2024, at around 4:17 a.m., Jamestown Police Department officers noticed a woman riding a bicycle on the sidewalk close to the intersection of Charlotte Avenue and E. 2nd Street, which is against city rules. A short half-mile pursuit that terminated at the dead end of Stafford Street ensued after the woman refused to stop when officers tried to halt her.

The person, identified as Lisa M. Tucker, had many pending bench warrants from Jamestown City Court and was found to be homeless. After being arrested, she was brought to the city jail, where she is being detained until her arraignment.

Among other traffic violations, Tucker is accused of resisting arrest and riding a bicycle on a city sidewalk. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
