Allegany Man Arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

(WNY News Now) After a Sheriff’s Office investigation, a Cattaraugus County man was charged with endangering the welfare of a child in Allegany, New York.

Authorities said that 47-year-old John A. Kiernan was taken into custody on February 1, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., in relation to an event that happened on January 31, 2025, at an Allegany address on Route 417.Kiernan was accused by deputies of two charges of harming a child’s welfare.

Kiernan was given a ticket for an appearance and is expected to show up in Town of Allegany Court later. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
