Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young hits buzzer-beater from beyond half-court to beat Utah Jazz

CITY OF SALT LAKETuesday night, the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Utah Jazz 124-121 thanks to a game-winning 3-pointer from outside the halfcourt line by Trae Young.

Young, who was lightly defended by Collin Sexton, who had seemingly forced overtime with a tying 3-pointer with four seconds left, grabbed an inbounds pass, dribbled to just short of halfcourt, and hit the 49-foot winner as time expired.

Young had 20 assists and 24 points in the end. The Hawks ended a three-game losing streak with 16 points, seven assists, and six rebounds from Dyson Daniels. De Andre Hunter scored 17 points, while Clint Capela scored 18.

Lauri Markkanen scored a season-high 35 points for Utah and nailed a season-high eight 3-pointers. Walker Kessler finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Sexton contributed 24 points.

Kessler’s back-to-back dunks gave Utah a 114-113 lead after they scored on five consecutive possessions. Young pushed Atlanta up again with a step-back 3-pointer, and with 1:57 remaining, he fed De Andre Hunter for another game-winning 3-pointer.
