Megan Fox’s family is about to get bigger

Actor Megan Fox revealed that she is pregnant in an Instagram photo that is simply dripping with intrigue. In the image, Fox, 38, is cradling her belly while kneeling in what looks like a puddle of black paint oozing from her skin. She stares into the camera wearing an expression that may be proud, or defiant, or both. And just in case there is any doubt about the message of the photo, Fox included a second image gripping a pregnancy test that reads “YES+.” The post went live Monday and had more than 800,000 likes within an hour. Fox shares three children — Noah , Bodhi and Journey , — with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. The pair filed for divorce in 2020, the same year that Fox began her passionate partnership with Machine Gun Kelly. Thou...

Trump picks Rep. Mike Waltz to be his national security adviser

President-elect Donald Trump has picked Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., to be his national security adviser, according to four sources familiar with the decision. Waltz is a Green Beret veteran who served in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Africa. Since 2019, he has represented a congressional district in the House, where he's a member of the Armed Services, Foreign Affairs and Intelligence committees. The Wall Street Journal first reported Trump’s pick. Waltz’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Waltz is a particularly hawkish member of Congress when it comes to China. He's a member of the House’s China Task Force and has argued that the U.S. is underprepared if there is a conflict in the region. Like many congressional Republicans, Wal...

Journalist Chris Wallace leaving CNN

Journalist Christ Wallace is leaving CNN after almost three years, the network said Monday. Wallace, 77, told The Daily Beast on Monday that he would pursue an independent platform like streaming or podcasting, as that's "where the action seems to be.” Wallace hosted the Sunday political show "Fox News Sunday" on Fox News for 18 years, before announcing in late 2021 that he was leaving for CNN to host a CNN+ program . But CNN+, a streaming service, was not to last. The network announced in April 2022 that CNN+ would close at the end of the month. Wallace had a CNN show, "Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?" that streamed on Max, and also was a regular figure on the network's coverage of the 2024 election. "Chris Wallace is one of the most respecte...

Every uncalled race left in the fight for control in Washington

Former President Donald Trump has clinched a second term in the White House, and his Republican Party has won control of the Senate. But control of the House of Representatives is still up for grabs, as is the size of the incoming Senate majority. In the fight for the House, Democrats are facing an uphill climb to net the four seats needed to flip the chamber, while Republicans only need to win a handful more competitive races to hold onto the majority. With more than a dozen House races still uncalled and many looking close, Democrats would need to hang onto all of their competitive seats and flip a few Republican-held seats to get to the 218 seats needed for the majority. With votes still being counted, here's a look at the key races that remain uncalled by the NBC News Decision De...

13 research monkeys remain at large as S.C. authorities announce 5 more captured

Thirteen research monkeys were on the loose Monday after an additional five of the 43 primates that escaped from a research lab in South Carolina last week were captured unharmed, authorities said. The discoveries on Monday — first there were three, then two more — mean 13 of the Rhesus macaques remain outside the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in the town of Yemassee, South Carolina. In a statement, the Yemassee Police Department cited Alpha Genesis CEO Greg Westergaard for news of the day's discoveries. "Additional primates have been successfully recovered today, all appearing to be in good health," the department said. Over the weekend, Yemassee police said 25 of the escaped monkeys had been captured safely. A group of the monkey had amassed al...

The role of White House national security adviser does not require Senate confirmation. Waltz joins New York Rep. Elise Stefanik as the second House Republican to be tapped by Trump for a post in his new administration. Trump selected Stefanik to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. FBI Director Christopher Wray is preparing for a possible forced exit under Trump

FBI Director Christopher Wray and Donald Trump's team are planning for the possibility that the president-elect will replace Wray during the new administration, three people familiar with the matter told NBC News. One person under consideration for Wray's job is Trump adviser Kash Patel , who is also being considered to lead the CIA, according to two other sources. Wray, who was appointed by Trump in 2017 to a 10-year term, enjoys leading the FBI and had intended to serve out his term, one source said. But he's also preparing for the possibility that Trump will seek to replace him, according to a separate source. All the sources spoke on condition of anonymity to recount sensitive discussions. Replacing might not mean firing. Wray could resign if he was told Trump...

Man arrested in killing that was falsely blamed on bear

A man accused of murder after a 911 call about a fake bear attack in the mountains of Tennessee led authorities to a dead man in October has been found and arrested, police said Sunday. The arrest of Nicholas Wayne Hamlett, 45, in Columbia, South Carolina, ends a manhunt that was launched after the call late Oct. 18 to 911 dispatchers in Monroe County. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that it was informed Sunday that Hamlett, who had been sought on a warrant of first-degree murder, was located and arrested in South Carolina. “The sharing of Hamlett’s wanted poster led the public, whom is our most valuable resource, to act as our eyes and ears,” Monroe County Sheriff Tommy J. Jones II said in a statement. The case began when a man claiming to be Brandon A...

Wisconsin officials believe kayaker missing since summer faked his death and is in Europe

Officials in Wisconsin believe that a man who disappeared after kayaking at a lake this summer is alive and well, possibly faking his death and traveling to Europe — after taking out a life insurance policy and communicating with a woman from Uzbekistan. Ryan Borgwardt — a married father of two — went missing on Aug. 12 and his last known location was Green Lake, Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll said during a news briefing Friday. Deputies found a capsized kayak in the lake and Borgwardt's vehicle and trailer parked in Dodge Memorial County Park, Podoll said. A fishing rod identified by Borgwardt's wife as belonging to him and a tackle box containing his wallet, license and keys were also found, according to Podoll. Search and recovery volunteer organization Bruce's Legacy he...
