(WNY News Now) Buffalo Police tracked down and retrieved a stolen SUV as part of a New York State-funded operation, safely apprehending four suspects.
Buffalo, New York On Thursday, December 26, 2024, four people were taken into custody by the Buffalo Police Department in relation to a stolen Mercedes SUV. A special detail supported by the New York State Motor Vehicle Theft Grant enabled the arrests.
The SUV was reported stolen from a Fleming Street home on December 23, which sparked the incident. To track the vehicle’s movements, police deployed license plate readers and the Erie County Sheriff’s Air 1 aircraft. The car was found and recovered on Waverly Street on December 26.
Four individuals were apprehended without any problems. Among these, Narrsson Boyd-Halsey, 29, of Buffalo, was charged with additional offenses because of a prior conviction for unlawful use of a vehicle. When Boyd-Halsey was arrested, a tiny amount of suspected crack cocaine was also discovered in his hands.
Boyd-Halsey faced the following charges:

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree
(NYS PL 165.50), a Class D felony.

Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the Second Degree
(NYS PL 165.06), a Class E felony. -
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
(NYS PL 220.03), a Class A misdemeanor.
The other suspects, who were named as Hamburg residents Danielle Ruger, 32; Deyonta Ragland, 31; and Donyale Jackson, 25, were accused of:

(NYS PL 165.50), a Class D felony. -
Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the Third Degree
(NYS PL 165.05-1), a Class A misdemeanor.
The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
