Buffalo Woman Arraigned on Murder Charge in Broadway-Fillmore Shooting

A 29-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a man close to Wade Avenue (WNY News Now).

According to the authorities, Purdie killed a 39-year-old man by purposefully shooting him at Wade Avenue and Holden Street on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at around 6:00 p.m. When Buffalo Police arrived on the scene, the victim was declared dead.

The criminal hearing for Purdie, who is being held without bond, is set for Friday, November 22, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. She could get a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison if found guilty.

Detectives Thomas Nunan and Rita Ruffin of the Buffalo Police Department were recognized by Acting DA Keane for their investigative work. Prosecution of the case is being handled by Homicide Bureau Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko.

Purdie is deemed innocent unless and unless he is proven guilty in a court of law, just like in all criminal cases.
