Judge dismisses manslaughter charge in Daniel Penny trial after jury deadlock

After jurors declared themselves deadlocked, the judge in the trial of Daniel Penny, the man charged with manslaughter in the chokehold murder of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway last year, dismissed the charge on Friday. Jurors will only take into account the lesser accusation of criminally negligent homicide, according to the ruling, which was made at the prosecutors' request.
