3 people killed when 8 shot at a gathering in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood
According to a police spokesman, eight persons were shot Monday afternoon during a "social gathering" at a home in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago, three of whom were killed.
Officials from the Chicago Fire Department informed NBC Chicago that at least three victims were hospitalized in critical condition, while another victim was stabilized at a medical facility.
According to Chicago Police Department Chief of Patrol John Hein, the shooting occurred during a social event.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., he said, police were summoned to a residence for a person who had been shot.
According to the chief, there were four men and four women among the casualties, who are between the ages of 20 and 35. "They were all men," Hein remarked of the dead.
