Yu Shang Food Inc. Recalls Over 72,000 Pounds of Meat and Poultry Products Due to Listeria Contamination; Infant Death Reported
A recall of roughly 72,240 pounds of ready-to-eat beef and poultry items has been issued by Spartanburg-based Yu Shang Food Inc. because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This recall comes after a terrible event in which a baby in California died and at least ten other people in four states became ill due to the outbreak.
Building on a November 9, 2024, initial recall, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the new recall on November 21, 2024. Products manufactured prior to October 28, 2024, such as chicken feet, duck neck, cattle shank, and swine hock, are among those impacted. These goods were sold online as well as supplied to retail establishments across the country.
