Giants release struggling quarterback Daniel Jones after signing him to $160 million deal
Quarterback Daniel Jones is being let go by the Giants, formally capping a dismal stint in New York that saw them make just one postseason appearance in six seasons.
According to the organization on Friday, the decision was made after Jones, who was demoted to the fourth string and officially benched this week, visited team authorities and requested the release.
"Daniel has been a great representative of our organization, first class in every way," Giants president John Mara said on X.
"The way things have turned out has disappointed us all. Daniel is well respected and greatly appreciated by us. We want the best for him in the future.
