(WNY News Now) To help Western New Yorkers remain warm and save money this winter, the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services is partnering with National Fuel to provide free weatherization kits.
Mayville, New York In an effort to help Western New Yorkers reduce their heating costs this winter, the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services (CCOFAS) is happy to announce the delivery of complimentary National Fuel weatherization kits.
These kits are a great way for locals to get ready for the difficulties of winter weather, especially since the colder months are already here.
Every weatherization kit includes:
-
Window insulation shrink film
- A heat and air deflector
-
Vinyl foam weatherseal
- Electric outlet sealers
Dana Corwin, the interim director of the Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services, expressed her excitement about the partnership with National Fuel to provide the community with these useful weatherization kits. During the winter, staying warm and cutting heating expenses are essential, and these kits offer a simple and efficient method to accomplish both. Even though we’ve already had a taste of winter, there will definitely be more in the future, therefore we urge locals to seize the chance.
There are 400 kits available from the Office for Aging Services, and they will be given out at the following sites in order of arrival:
- Mayville: 7 N. Erie St., Hall R. Clothier Building, Mayville, NY 14757
-
Jamestown: 107 Institute St., Suite 201, Jamestown, NY 14701
- Dunkirk: Dunkirk Senior Center, 45 Cliffstar Court, Dunkirk, NY 14048
While supplies last, residents are urged to pick up their kit. Each household is only allowed to have one kit. For further information or inquiries, please call 716-753-4582 to reach NY Connects.
“National Fuel’s generosity and dedication to helping our community are greatly appreciated,” Corwin continued. During the severe winter months, these kits are a proactive way to make our houses cozy and secure.
The Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services is committed to offering caregivers, people with disabilities, and senior citizens in the area vital resources and assistance. Another example of the agency’s efforts to address community needs is this initiative.
