Cigarette Sparks Residential Fire on Pearl Street in Forestville

(WNY News Now) On Saturday, January 25, 2025, a residence fire on Pearl Street in Forestville was determined to be caused by a cigarette setting off flammable materials on a front porch.

The Forestville Fire Department responded to a residence fire on Pearl Street in Forestville on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at around 10:12 a.m. with mutual aid assistance. In order to save more property damage, firefighters moved swiftly to put out the fire.

The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team responded on the scene to evaluate the incident and identify its cause after the fire was contained. Following a comprehensive investigation, authorities determined that a cigarette coming into touch with flammable materials on the front porch of the house was the cause of the fire.

Thankfully, the fire did not result in any reported injuries.
