Cocaine Possession Arrest Following Traffic Stop in Jamestown

(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of two individuals found in possession of cocaine.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On October 23, 2024, at approximately 6:56 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West 6th Street and Jefferson Street. During the investigation, officers discovered that John T. Peterson, a 40-year-old resident of Randolph, and Jamica L. Maisonet, a 29-year-old resident of Jamestown, were in possession of cocaine.

Both Peterson and Maisonet were taken into custody without resistance and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. They were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor under New York state law.

Peterson and Maisonet were released from custody with appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
