“If we win this game, it’s destiny,” Reaves told Worley’s family before the proposal was made, the site reported.
“She deserves it. I have so much to say about her,” Reaves told the publication. “She was there to pick me up every day last year when I was at my lowest. She arrived. My best friend is that person. been my closest companion since high school.
Reaves wrote on X after the proposal that he was happy to be able to share the experience with his fans.
In 2019, Reaves, who was born in Florida, joined the Commanders. He underwent surgery in 2023 to fix a partially torn ACL, The Associated Press said.
“After suffering an ACL tear last year, I was going through the worst. Reaves told the newspaper, “She was the crutch there when I couldn’t do it myself. I couldn’t do anything, couldn’t be my own man.”
