‘Days of Our Lives’ actor Wayne Northrop dies at 77

Actor Wayne Northrop, who first played Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives, passed away on Friday, November 29. He was seventy-seven.

According to a statement from his representative, Northrop passed away at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home.

In a statement, Lynn Herring Northrop, the actor’s wife, stated that Wayne Northrop received an early onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis six years prior.

She reported that he passed away in his family’s embrace.

Wayne’s wit and sense of humor impacted a lot of individuals. She also said that he was a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many, a husband of forty-three years, and the best father in the world to his two boys, Hank and Grady.

In 1981, Northrop made his debut on Days of Our Lives. He portrayed Roman, a detective and Brady family member, until 1984 and again from 1991 until 1994. His character and Diedre Hall’s character, Marlena Evans, had a famous romance.

In May 2016, Northrop stood for pictures with Hall and Josh Taylor, who began playing Roman in 1997, during Hall’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Northrop played Michael Culhane, the chauffeur for the Carrington family, in Dynasty as well. In Port Charles, in which his wife played Lucy Coe, he also portrayed Rex Stanton. Additional credits include Baretta, The Waltons, and others.

Along with his acting career, Northrop and his wife worked on and maintained a cattle ranch in Raymond, California.
