Destiny’s Child reunite for Michelle Williams on Broadway: ‘Ride or die friends’

Beyonc and Kelly Rowland supported Michelle Williams during her triumphant Broadway comeback.

On November 21, on the first night of Death Becomes Her, which starred Williams as Viola Van Horn, Destiny’s Child got back together backstage. Through a series of adorable social media posts, Beyonc and her mother, Tina Knowles, chronicled the event.

Beyonc posted a video montage on Instagram on Saturday, accompanied with her single II Most Wanted, which features Miley Cyrus. The brief movie included a number of images and videos, such as the theater’s marquee, some of Williams in character, and adorable pictures of Rowland and her mother holding the playbill.

She posted a backstage picture of Williams positioned between Beyonc and Rowland as they gave her a hug at the end of the video. Williams’ final bow at the end of the show was followed by a brief footage of the three of them conversing backstage in another film.

Later in the day, the Grammy Award-winning musician posted a another Instagram post with comparable images and videos that perfectly encapsulated the atmosphere of the night.

The singer only wrote, “My Belle,” in the caption.

On her Instagram story, Rowland paid tribute to the adorable occasion by reposting an image of Beyonc, Williams, and Rowland cuddling from an Essence post. Using emojis, the Mea Culpa star simply said, “

Tina Knowles shared the same video as her daughter on Instagram to commemorate the event on social media as well.

She partially captioned the photo, saying, “It is always great seeing Destiny’s Child together.” We saw Michelle excel in this job! She looked like a goddess and spoke like an angel! Friends that love and support one another will ride or die together.

The lineup of Destiny’s Child, formerly known as Girls Tyme, included Beyonc, Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson. Williams and Farrah Franklin joined the group after Luckett and Roberson left, but Franklin quit six months after joining.

The members of Destiny’s Child have continued to support one another in their solo pursuits even after splitting up following their final studio album in 2004, and Rowland and Beyonc have remained close friends.

Rowland, Williams, Luckett, and Roberson made an appearance to support Beyonc at the Los Angeles premiere of her Renaissance concert film in November 2023.

At the Super Bowl in February 2013, Rowland and Williams joined Beyonc on stage to perform Bootylicious and Independent Women before joining in on Single Ladies, marking the group’s previous reunion.

They also performed during Beyonc’s historic Coachella performance in 2018, which saw her become the festival’s first Black female headlining act. For the event, the group sang their classics, Say My Name, Soldier, and Lose My Breath.
