Eagles QB Jalen Hurts ruled out vs. Commanders with concussion

Due to a concussion, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was unable to play in Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

Hurts scampered left for 13 yards with 9:52 left in the first quarter before Washington linebackers Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu tackled him. He carefully stood up and proceeded to the blue tent for a potential concussion examination.

Kenny Pickett took Hurts’ place as quarterback and then found receiver A.J. Brown for a four-yard touchdown throw.

Hurts was deemed finished for the day by the Eagles late in the second quarter.

A victory would give Philadelphia the NFC East division and keep them in the running for the top seed in the NFC playoffs.

Prior to the game, Hurts, 26, had guided the Eagles to a 10-game winning streak. In addition to his 589 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground this season, he has 2,892 yards passing with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.
