Fight mars end of Cowboys-Eagles game

During Philadelphia’s decisive victory over Dallas in Week 17, the fight was largely one-sided.

Right up until the last three minutes.

The Eagles were ahead 41-7 late in the fourth quarter when they kicked a normal punt to start a play that swiftly resulted in the dismissal of Sydney Brown of Philadelphia and Troy Pride and Jalen Brooks of Dallas.

Pride intervened and shoved Brown after he and Brooks were entangled in the end zone. Brown responded by dragging him into a tunnel that led off the field.

More players from both sides entered the tunnel battle, attempting to disperse the original participants.

The game has focused on different dramas up to that point. After taking a hit from Cowboys (7-9) rusher Micah Parsons in the third quarter, Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, who had started in place of the injured Jalen Hurts, sustained an injury and departed the game.

Saquon Barkley, a running back for Philadelphia, became the ninth player in NFL history to dash for 2,000 yards in a single season a quarter later.

In the end, Sunday’s victory for the Eagles (13-3) secured the NFC East championship.
