New Website Brings State and Private Organizations Together to Simplify and Streamline Education and Workforce Resources
The initial stage of the website, FindYourFuture.sc.gov, will develop further to offer data, information, and opportunities to improve the state’s labor and education systems for the benefit of South Carolinians.
Columbia, South Carolina. A collaboration of numerous state and local organizations, the Coordinating Council for Workforce Development (CCWD) is thrilled to introduce the FindYourFuture.sc.gov pilot. The purpose of this virtual platform is to give South Carolinians access to information that will help them on their educational and career path. It also gives businesses, educators, and workforce development partners around the state easy access to the variety of resources that are available to them. Crucially, the purpose of this initial version was to gather firsthand user feedback in order to support ongoing platform development and improvement.
The Future Finder is one of the platform’s primary features. Future Finder, created in collaboration with FutureFit AI, converts users’ prior education and work experience into skills, explains how those skills align with in-demand career pathways, and links users to pertinent jobs, training, and education to further their career objectives in South Carolina.
The way South Carolinians approach work and education is being transformed by Find Your Future. Dr. Richard Cosentino, President of Lander University and Chair of the CCWD Project Steering Committee, said, “It is amazing to see discussions and planning come to life with such a strong start.” We are guaranteeing that companies, employees, and students can all make well-informed decisions that result in long-term success by offering real-time insights into career prospects, necessary skills, and academic pathways. This excellent collaboration between over 30 organizations represents a significant advancement in workforce development.
Jobseekers can access tools to assist them progress their careers, such as details on the education and certification requirements, links to apprenticeship and internship programs, and links to some of the most active job boards with current postings. Companies can locate job posting sites, organizations that can assist them in implementing apprenticeship programs, employee training possibilities, and labor market data and information. The kinds of jobs in the state, educational resources and requirements, and skill-specific schools and training are all available for educators, students, and parents to investigate.
The objective is for FindYourFuture.sc.gov to continue developing and eventually become the interactive Statewide Education and Workforce Development Portal with useful tools and resources for employers, job seekers, students, educators, and more. Currently, it functions as a repository of linked resources. People are urged to fill out the brief website feedback form while they browse the site. Both the homepage and the main navigation menu include links to it. Future iterations of the website will be shaped by these comments.
