Fire Breaks Out at Save A Lot in Silver Creek

On January 10, 2025, firefighters responded to a fire at Save A Lot, a commercial structure on Route 20 in Silver Creek (WNY News Now). A heating unit placed too near building materials has been determined by investigators to be the reason.

The Silver Creek Fire Department, assisted by mutual aid, responded to a fire at the Save A Lot shop on Route 20 in the Town of Hanover early on January 10, 2025. The incident happened around 5:55 a.m.

Firefighters arrived and quickly put out the fire, which was limited to the ceiling area close to the store’s entrance. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded, and the building’s interior was unharmed.

After the fire was successfully put out, fire investigators were dispatched to the scene. According to their conclusions, heaters that were positioned too close to construction materials in the ceiling area were the cause of the fire. The heaters’ close proximity to flammable objects caused an ignite, which in turn started the fire.

The store’s interior is still intact despite the early-morning fire, and things did not become worse.
