Fort Mill Prepares for New Downtown Parking Lot Construction

Fort Mill, South CarolinaPlans to improve parking in the downtown business sector are being carried out by the Town of Fort Mill. At the junction of Tom Hall and Springs Streets, where the Hardee’s restaurant once stood, work on a new municipal parking lot is scheduled to start the week of February 3, 2025.

The parking lot will be closed to the public on January 27 in order to begin project preparations. Workers will erect security measures, signage, and perimeter fencing around the property. Depending on the weather, the building is anticipated to take about five months.

In order to support the town’s busy Main Street sector, the new lot will provide 67 parking spaces in addition to modern landscaping and lighting. The municipality keeps moving forward with finishing our new parking option downtown, said Mayor Guynn Savage, who expressed excitement for the project. We look forward to completing this project for our community, as many people use our free parking to reach the fantastic eateries and shops in our Main Street corridor.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate parking choices and be cautious in the area while construction is underway. The initiative demonstrates the town’s dedication to promoting accessibility and development in the downtown area.
