Highlights of the Fort Mill School Board Meeting on November 19, 2024

Newly Re-Elected Board Members’ Oath of Office

Mr. Anthony Boddie, Dr. Scott Frattaroli, and Mrs. Kristy Spears, who were re-elected to the board, took the oath of office for a four-year term.

Selection of the Board’s Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson

Kristy Spears was chosen to serve as the board’s chair.Lipi Pratt was chosen to serve as the Board’s vice-chairperson.

Highlight of the School: Banks Trail Middle School

Banks Trail Middle School Principal Marc Pyrc and his team provided details about their Club Unified initiative. By enabling students with and without disabilities to engage in sports, social events, and community service together, the program aims to foster inclusivity and goodwill within the school community. In addition, the curriculum fosters leadership qualities, encourages physical exercise, teaches diversity and respect for all abilities, and assists children in forming deep connections.

The monthly report on impact fees and finances was given by Mrs. Leanne Lordo.

The completed audit report by Greene Finney has been submitted to the State Department. Partner David Phillips will provide a presentation at the January Board meeting.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, Dr. Gales Scroggs submitted new, reauthorized, and local board-approved courses for approval. The following courses were approved by the school board:
