(WNY News Now) A domestic garage on Church Street in Sherman was completely destroyed in a late-night fire that was linked to a wood stove.
New York’s Sherman Several fire crews raced to the site of a garage fire at 123 Church Street in Sherman on December 21, 2024, at around 9:17 p.m. The garage was completely destroyed as a result of the fire, which was promptly contained.
To ascertain the cause and origin of the fire, firefighters contacted the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team. Following a comprehensive examination, authorities determined that a wood-burning stove that was situated too close to combustible items was the cause of the incident. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
